Poverty in Africa

Poverty in Africa is the leading cause of deaths among children on the continent. It is estimated that a child dies every three seconds in Africa due to illness or malnourishment. Many of these lives could be saved with clean water, medicines and education. In addition to those children lost through malnutrition or for lack of clean water, many more die from diseases such as AIDS, Malaria, Pneumonia and Typhoid Fever.

ActionAid is constantly working towards alleviating Poverty in Africa.

Farming Eduaction and Assistance

The amount of viable arable land is dwindling at an alarming rate as unregulated deforestation, overgrazing and uninformed agriculture contribute towards land degradation. The poorest farmers in the country live in East and West Africe, in isolate locations far from the poverty assitance and social service programmes available in more urban areas.
